CPY Mentor/Tutor Program

CPY provides Mentor/Tutor Programs on-campus at the following schools in Seaside and Monterey, CA.

• Del Rey Woods Elementary School, Seaside CA

• Highland Elementary School, Seaside CA

• MLK School of the Arts, Seaside CA

• Ord Terrace Elementary School, Seaside CA

• Dual Language Academy of Monterey Peninsula (DLAMP)

During the Afterschool Mentor/Tutor Program, students receive help with their homework with the emphasis on learning and read individually or in small groups to work on improving their literacy. Every day the children meet in what we call “circle time”. They sing songs, share what’s happening in their lives, and go over the CPY Standards. The standards help to build confidence and self-worth, as well as develop strong character. After this is completed they have the opportunity to play outside in a safe environment and/or have the opportunity to participate in the Art Academy. CPY also provides working parents with the peace of mind that their child is not only safe after school but he/she is learning skills to be successful in life.

Our comprehensive program works with the “whole” child, their families, schools and community agencies.  The goal of CPY is to provide a supportive, structured, creative environment for children to learn and grow.
